In the name of God Amen I Richard Pond of the parish.
of Nottoway and county of Southampton being weak now but of perfect.
& sound mind do make an ordain this my last Will and Testament.
in manner following / to wit / -

First: I give & bequeath to my Son Richard Pond one negro boy called Mun
and one sorrel horse called Jock & one & one feather bed .& after the.
death of my wife I further give unto my son Richard the plantation.
whereon I now live with three hundred an ninety five acres more or.
less adjoining the same bounded by the Huckleberry branch to the head of
the said branch and then by a straight lie to the line that divided
my land from John Nassers to him & his heirs forever.

Second: I give & bequeth unto my son John Hawkins Pond the plantation.
whereon James Sedget formerly lived with three hundred & ninety
five acres adjoining /more or less/ bounded by the land given my
son Richard on one side also I give my said son John Hawkins
two negro boys James & Issac and one bay colt called blaze & one
feather bed & furniture to him & his heirs forever

Thirdly: I give & bequeth unto my daughter Elizabeth Moore one negro woman
called Frankky her three children Milly Ben & Ceaser & their
increase also one feather bed .& furniture to her and her heirs forever (allegation
of which she already has in her possession

Fourthly: I give & bequeth unto my daughter Mary Pond onde negro woman

Fifthly: I give & bequeth unto my daughter Martha Pond one negro girl called Rose
& her increase also one feather bed & furniture to her and her heirs forever

Sixthly: I give & bequeth unto my daughter Sarah Pond one negro girl called
Mourning & her increase also one feather bed & furniture to her and her heirs forever

Seventhly: I give & bequeth unto my son Tho Pond one negro boy called George also.
one feather bed & furniture to him and his heirs forever

Eighthly: I give & bequeth unto my son James Pond one negro boy called Charles also.
one feather bed & furniture to him and his heirs forever

Ninthly: oI lend unto my loving wife Martha on during her natural life the.
plantation whereon I now live with 395 acres of land adjoining bounded.
as mentioned above in the first clause of my will also the use and labor of.
the following negros / to wit / Laurence, Polly, Rachel, Lucy & Milton & after
my just debts and legacies are paid I also lend unto my wife the use of all the.
residue of my estate of what nature or kind soever My will & desire is that.
after the death of my wife my negros Rachel, Lucy, & Milly with their
increase be equally divided between my two sons Tho & James or the heirs.
of their body but if either of my two sons Thomas or James should die under.
age or without issue then my desire is that the survivor of them should
have the whole of the legacies herein given the other & if both of my sons.
should die under age or without issue then the estate given them.
to be equally divided amongst my surviving children or their heirs.
& I further desire after the death of my wife the whole of my estate not.
herein before given away be equally divided amongst all my children
herein named or their heirs .And Lastly I do hereby constitute.
appoint my loving wife Executrix & my two sons Richard and John.
Pond whole and sole executors of the my last will & testament revoking.
all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereto.
set my hand andd seal this 22 day of September 1777.
